Steven Levy, intellectual property attorney, brings 25 years of experience in trademark clearance, prosecution, licensing and dispute resolution as well as copyright law. Sophie Raven, immigration attorney, has a decade of experience representing clients in business and family immigration matters relating to the full range of visas, from training visas to employment-based visas and family-based visas. The addition of these four Counsel, with broad experience both in firms and in-house, add significantly to the firm’s ability to assist individuals, start-ups, small and mid-sized corporations, and larger companies in matters requiring experienced and skilled legal representation and a cost-effective approach.

In addition to managing her own private practice, Sophie Raven assists CASTAYBERT PLLC clients with their U.S. Immigration matters. Benefiting from nearly 10 years of experience representing clients in business and family immigration matters, Sophie advises clients on issues relating to the full range of training visas, employment-based visas and family-based (including fiancée) visas, both temporary (non-immigrant) and permanent, visas for lawful permanent residence ("green cards", including attending adjustment of status interviews), and U.S. citizenship. Sophie is also experienced in the intricacies of U.S. consular processing abroad both for temporary (non-immigrant) visas and immigrant visa applications.

Sophie is an active member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA), serving on the AILA New York Chapter Citizenship Day Committee since 2009, most recently as its secretary for 2014-2015.  She is also a member of the Immigration and Nationality Committee of the New York City Bar Association and chairs its Business Immigration Subcommittee. In May 2009, she lectured before an audience of immigration practitioners on "Transferring Pains – What Makes a Multinational Function Manager under EB-1-3."  In 2011, Ms. Raven contributed to updating Immigration Law & Procedure, (by Stanley Mailman and Stephen Yale-Loer), the leading immigration law treatise.  She also actively volunteers with New York Law School’s Safe Passage project, assisting children in Special Immigrant Juvenile Status (SIJS) with applying for green cards. Most recently, Sophie also serves as a volunteer attorney conducting screenings of newly arrived undocumented and unaccompanied children from Latin America to identify potential immigration relief for which they may be eligible. Sophie is also a member of the American Bar Association (ABA), the French American Chamber of Commerce, the French American Bar Association, the Phi Alpha Delta Law Fraternity, the Barnard Business Professional Women Association, and the National Association of Professional Women, having been inducted in 2014 in its VIP Women of the Year Circle.

Sophie graduated with distinction from Barnard College, Columbia University, with a Bachelor of Arts degree.  She spent one year of her undergraduate studies at l’Université de Paris VII and at Reid Hall, Columbia University in Paris, where she studied Japanese and French literature.  She earned her law degree (J.D.) from New York Law School and was awarded a Public Service certificate upon graduation.  Sophie is admitted in the State of Connecticut, which enables her to argue before immigration courts throughout the United States. Sophie is fluent in French, and proficient in Spanish and Japanese.
