The Footwear Consumer 2030 Report examines global economic, social, demographic and cultural trends and how each will shape the buying habits of footwear consumers worldwide. According to an article on VampFootwear.com, the 2030 Consumer Report touches on seven main factors, from social media to the aging of a key demographic, that will change the industry’s future consumer.

June 19, 2015 – André Castaybert attended the 10th Annual Lawyering in the Fashion Industry program sponsored by the New York City Bar Center for CLE. The program focused on licensing, trademark protection, and provided practical insights on how to structure successful license deals; navigate license disputes; manage trademark/copyright enforcement programs, including litigating trademark actions; and dealt with contract, labor and employment, immigration and IP considerations raised in fashion modeling. The program also explored the ins and outs of customs, imports and related regimes, and the implementation and administration of human rights compliance programs.

December 9, 2014 – André Castaybert attended a reception with Dinah Emsalem, Chief Operating Officer of SMCP Group at Sandro Boutique in New York City’s West Village. Ms. Emsalem is responsible for the operations, development and strategic initiatives of SMCP Group’s brands – Sandro, Maje and Claudie Pierlot – in North America.

October 9, 2014 – André Castaybert attended the latest in the series of programs sponsored by the French and Italian chambers of commerce exploring trends, opportunities and challenges of luxury brands in France, Italy and The U.S.  The topic on October 9 was “Luxury Talent Management: The Greatest Challenge for the Next Decade?”

Panelists included Michael Boroian, Managing Partner and founder of Sterling International, Alberto Festa, President of Bulgari USA, and Alexandra de Rancogne, Senior Director of Human Resources for Christian Dior Inc.  They identified the major trends in talent management, retention and leadership that exist specifically within the luxury industry. The panel explored how this industry functions, who it attracts, and what types of critical competencies are most valued. They also provided concrete insights into what it takes to succeed in the luxury industry.
