The U.S. Department of Labor (“DOL”) publishes a guidebook for businesses with general information on the laws and regulations enforced by the the DOL. The guidebook describes the statutes most commonly applicable to employers and explains how to obtain assistance from the DOL regarding compliance.

The DOL’s authority extends to many statutes, including the Employee Retirement Income Security Act (ERISA), the Occupational Safety and Health Act (OSHA)’ Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA), and Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA).
